SYRINGE
Surgical Matrix
Connext® Syringe provides smooth, precise delivery of Connext® material in a ready-to-use, surgeon-friendly format for efficient application.
Connext® Surgical Matrix is a purified, low pH, 100% Type 1 Native Bovine Collagen indicated for the management of complex wounds. Connext creates a low pH healing environment, which has been shown to increase fibroblast proliferation, promotes epithelization and angiogenesis, regulate MMP activity, increase oxygenation of damaged tissues, and inhibit growth of pathogens. The unique properties of Connext also make it an alternative to close-suction drains, blood vessel ligation, or surgical site immobilization in the prevention of postoperative seromas. Connext is safe, effective and versatile for use in all plastic, reconstructive and general surgical wounds.

What is Connext® Surgical Matrix composed of?
Connext® Surgical Matrix is a purified, low pH, 100% Type 1 native bovine collagen powder indicated for the management of complex wounds. The sub-micron collagen structure is designed to support the body’s natural healing process while providing a highly absorbent matrix that neutralizes wound exudate and forms a protective gel moisture biobarrier over the wound site.
What part of the cow is the bovine collagen derived from?
The bovine collagen in Connext® is derived from achilles tendon. Bovine tendon collagen is highly homologous to human collagen, thereby supporting biocompatibility and minimizing the immune response.
How is Connext® Surgical Matrix used in medical applications?
Connext® delivers a highly absorbent matrix that absorbs up to 30 times its weight in wound exudate. Upon contact with fluid, the collagen forms a protective gel moisture biobarrier over the wound, supporting fibroblast proliferation, epithelialization, angiogenesis, and revascularization. Its low-pH environment regulates MMP activity, inhibits protease activity, and increases oxygenation of damaged tissues to promote healing.
Where is Connext® Surgical Matrix used?
Connext® is indicated for partial and full-thickness wounds, ulcers, first- and second-degree burns, cuts, abrasions, and surgical wounds. It is safe, effective, and versatile for use in plastic, reconstructive, and general surgical wound applications.
How is Connext® Surgical Matrix prepared?
Connext® is processed using a proprietary low pH processing method that renders the collagen with a higher absorption capacity of up to 30 times its own weight. This preparation retains the structural extracellular matrix of native Type 1 collagen and produces a submicron material that increases collagen bioavailability at the wound site.
What delivery forms does Connext® come in?
Connext® is available in two surgeon-friendly delivery formats. The bellows applicator allows aerosol distribution of the collagen powder for controlled, ergonomic dispersion with improved reach and precision. The open barrel syringe applicator provides smooth, precise placement of Connext® material in a ready-to-use format.
What sizes does Connext® come in?
Connext® Surgical Matrix is available in three sizes: Small, Large, and X-Large. The size range supports selection based on wound dimensions and application volume, from focused defect treatment to larger complex wound management.
